Mityana-Uganda; the hearing of a case of malicious damage to property brought up against 10 community members in Butebi village, Central division, Mityana district has failed to take off as the trial magistrate was absent from court.
Some of the ten members include Peter Mukiibi, Mulindwa Henry, Lukyamuzi Moses, and many others.
The prosecution alleges that the ten destroyed property of one Earnest Biziire including whom they accused of grabbing their land.
However, the 10 community members instead termed the court process as a malicious trial which should be focusing on Biziire, whom they allegedly accuse of being responsible for the death of their member Evelyn Nagawa.
Residents allege that Nagawa died as a result of torture and inhumane treatment by Biziire and his laborers after which the deceased’s body was found at the fence of Biziire’s tomato plantation after the gruesome murder.
The ten accused people will report back to court on the 17th-February-2021.
