The people of Acholi have vowed to continue shunning leaders who are deemed insensitive to their land rights, saying as a community, they have suffered a lot of humiliation from such leadership in the past.
Justifying the recent voting pattern in the region in which the ruling party lost, the community argue that they cast a protest vote against the rampant violations of the indigenous community’s land rights perpetrated mainly by state actors.
